Going to be working on my top ten tonight, but one thing that would be on it, except I just want to put stuff from WDW on my top ten so I'm not including it, would be pizza at Lou Malnati's.

PostSubject: Top 10 Most Anticipated Meals at WDW   Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? I_icon_minitimeMarch 9th 2009, 08:40

10.) Seared Miso Salmon - Yak & Yeti

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Searedmisosalmon

This isn't something I would normally go for and I know for me, I'm going to be taking a lot of chances this trip and it looks good enough that I think it'll be worth a shot.

9.) Legendary 10 oz. Burger - Hard Rock Cafe

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Legendary10ozBurger

Has bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and an onion ring, on top of being 10 oz and I think the bread is dipped in Guiness beer or something like that. Didn't want to be boring and eat a lot of burgers for this trip, that one looks pretty delicious.

8.) Chicken Parmigiana - Tony's Town Square

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Chickenparmigiana

Figured since you're doing the spaghetti, I would try one of their bigger meals and we can share part of it. Looks pretty delicious though and I hope so, as this is the only Italian restaurant we'll be going to!

7.) Tonga Toast - Kona Cafe

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Tongatoast1

I've heard too many amazing things about it not to want to try it at this point. I wonder if the pictures do it justice though as it doesn't look amazing or anything.

6.) Asakusa - Teppan Edo

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Asakusa

This is filet mignon and shrimp, with mushrooms and veggies. It looks deeeeeeeelicious!

5.) Paleonzoic Chicken Sandwich - T-Rex Cafe

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Paleonzoicchicken

If I can't get a side of Raptor Rice, then this might have to change. For now though, I figure with the kind of restaurant that this place is and the fact that we're going for lunch, I'd want something a little lighter but nonetheless delicious.

4.) Demi poulet fermier roit - Chefs de France

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Demipoulet

Rotisserie chicken with basil-flavored mashed tatoes. NOMNOMNOM!

3.) Bacon Double Cheeseburger w/ Fries - Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Bacondoublecheeseburger

I had to. It's my favorite counter service place at the World. So Nom.

2.) BBQ Chicken Focaccia - Wolfgang Puck Express

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Bbqchickenfocaccia

This was a bit of a scramble as I didn't want to repeat meals, but there's so many delicious looking things there that it wasn't hard to find a replacement. With those extra days, I bet if the food is as delicious as it looks we'll want to come back here again.

1.) Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon - Le Cellier

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Lecelliermushroomfiletmignon

This was pretty much a no brainer. Put this as the number one thing on my list immediately, because I'm looking forward to this restaurant more than the others because of all the great things I've heard about it. So it only seemed right to put my most wanted meal as my most want to visit restaurant. I've seen some pictures that make this look better, but I have a feeling this will taste better than it looks.

The Dining Atmosphere

Captain Cook's is located on the first floor of Disney's Polynesian Resort, towards the back. The restaurant has a full beverage center and a counter service ordering system. The new computerized ordering system allows you to order on a screen and pick up a buzzer while you wait for your food to cook.

Captain Cook's is not a large restaurant, but for an informal, tropically themed counter service restaurant at Disney World, Captain Cook's is appealing. In addition to the indoor seating at tables, there are several patio tables outside that offer a view of the palm trees and tropical foliage.

This is a good choice for a quick service meal at Disney World if you happen to be visiting the Polynesian Resort or at a nearby monorail location in the Magic Kingdom area.

whispering canyon cafe @ the wilderness lodge

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Wcc10

fyi review: “Getting to the restaurant early, we were definitely the FIRST people there (and this might have been unfortunate). I have heard of the great show the waitstaff puts on, but I was a bit disappointed. The show couldn’t really begin until the restaurant filled up a bit more, and as it was 7:50am, things weren’t as rowdy.

(Interestingly, I overheard one waiter “breaking character” to ask about the time. When her co-worker responded “8:15,” the waiter replied “Oh…I’m ready to sing, and we have to wait 30 more minutes.” I’m guessing this means that if you have a later reservation, you may get a better show, as waitstaff aren’t allowed to get loud until after 8:45 due to sleeping Wilderness Lodge Resort guests!)"

room service @ the polynesian

  • Room service at Disney's Polynesian Resort is available from 6:30 a.m. to midnight, 7 days a week and includes American fare from the kitchen of the Kona CafĂ©.
  • To order room service, select Dining Options on your Guest Room telephone.

upper crust pizza in celebration, fl

Opened in late 2001, the restaurant features two types of pizza, thick Sicilian style and traditional New York style, both with a variety of toppings. Pizza is served as a whole pie, or by the slice with a drink for $2.79. In addition to the pizza offerings, Upper Crust also features a variety of Pannini’s, pressed sandwiches filled with items such as Tuscan Chicken, Steak and Cheese and Vegetables. A unique item served at Upper Crust is an open faced calzone called a “Crusti”. These hand made delights are stuffed with meatloaf, steak, Greek Salad and other items, and made to order in about 8 minutes. To top off your meal, Upper Crust offers a rotating menu of dessert pizzas including chocolate and apple cinnamon. Delivery is available in the immediate area, with about 20% of sales coming via delivered items.

The screen features an hour loop of some of the "best" B-movie sci-fi flicks from the 1950's. Mixed in with the movie trailers are shorts from the Disney vaults with one featuring Walt Disney himself. There's even drive-in food commercials like those seen in the movie Grease. Watch for the hot dog jumping into the bun, smiling all the way. The CM servers will yell out the movie lines in sync with the screen. I guess when working at the Sci-Fi over time, one has to get these clips burned into the brain.

'ohana @ the polynesian resort

Pros: Everything! The food, service, firework viewing....
Cons: That I didn't have enough room in my tummy to eat more!

I had been to 'Ohana once before for dinner and it was great, and so I decided to go with my bf on this trip. I had talked it up a lot before going and so then I got worried that it wouldn't be as good as I remembered- I didn't have to worry, he's still raving about it!

The food was all great- if we had the stomach room we would have asked for more dumplings, they were SO good. The server suggested putting some of the peanut sauce on the salad and we thought it was odd but tried it- and devoured the whole bowl! The meat was done perfectly (I like my steak medium-rare which was how it was done), the sauces were great. My bf loved the chicken wings and the pork especially.

We were seated right at the window and I didn't plan on going during firework time, but when I made reservations months before and 9:35 was the only dinner time left. It worked out perfectly- watching them from that view was even better than I expected and I loved that they turned off the lights and piped the music in. Right when they were done, the server brought in a cupcake for me with a candle and everyone sang- not for my birthday, but because I was celebrating my graduation! He knew I was full by then and wanted some of the FANTASTIC bread pudding, so he brought it in a to-go container and I had it for breakfast the next morning (it was really, really good!).

I read some reviews that said the service was bad, but it was great this night. The servers brought our food out at perfectly staggered times, although even if they did bring everything out at once as people have complained about, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world because that way you wouldn't fill up on one dish before others are brought out like we did.

I wasn't a huge fan of the entertainment- we had the lady. She was a bit much for me, but the kids at the restaurant seemed to have fun, and she really wasn't out for all that long (I think because of the fireworks).

I definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone and will try to make reservations at every trip I make from now on!

Pros: Great Food
Cons: None

After having read good reviews about this restaurant, my husband & I decided to give it a try. We arrived about 8pm on our 1st day (Aug 29) & headed to Downtown Disney to have dinner. All the reviews are correct in saying that this place is the BEST. I'm so glad we tried this location so early in our visit. I can't believe this is a counter service meal. The portions are big & the food is excellent !!! We would have chosen this restaurant for all our counter service lunches had it not been for all the travel time involved in getting here. This is a MUST do !!!

Beaches and Cream Soda Shop
Jan 6th, 2010 by AJ.

At long last! Can you believe it’s been almost a year and I haven’t done a full blog post about Beaches and Cream? Well, rest assured I’ve been to my favorite soda shop a couple of times since the beginning of this food blog, so I’ve got plenty of photos for ya!

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? F-and-W-Day-1-045

Atmosphere

Beaches and Cream is located right next to Stormalong Bay between the Beach Club and Yacht Club Resorts. It’s styled as a mid-century shoreline soda shop, complete with a creamy, salt-water-taffy color scheme; beach balls adorning the booths; a counter lining two walls; a big ol’ jukebox; and white wrought iron tables.

Tables, Entrance, and Jukebox from Counter

Mirrors reflect from one side of the dining room making the place look a bit bigger, but it’s tiny in there! There are three booths (get there early to grab one!) and a handful of tables, plus counter seating. Beaches and Cream doesn’t take advanced dining reservations, so at any given time you’re likely to see a large group of folks with pagers waiting outside or in the video arcade next door.

Don’t want to wait? No problem. Beaches and Cream also has a take-out area to the right of the main entrance. Grab some quick eats and sit at one of the fun ice-cream-cone shaped tables outside while you watch fellow Disney World guests enjoy Stormalong Bay!

Eats

Now we get to my favorite part! Beaches and Cream is a soda shop, so the menu is pretty basic — burgers, fries, hot dogs, onion rings, etc. Here are a few of our favorite things to order:

The Mickey pasta chicken noodle soup is big, hearty, and delicious. Definitely worth a try, and a good choice if you’re feeling a little under the weather.

Whatcha most looking forward to munchin'? Final-day-053

And if you’re not feeling all that under the weather, tuck into a big bowl of chili. This is my husband’s favorite.

It never hurts to order a few onion rings as a side — everyone at the table will help you eat them, I promise.

But save room for your dinner! Here are Beaches and Cream’s classic dishes, the cheeseburger and the hot dog.

But if you’re in the mood for something different, the french dip/cheesesteak is always a winner…

Finally, what you were waiting for…dessert! The list of desserts, including malteds, strawberry shortcake, milkshakes, and sundaes is long, my friends. LONG. Take your time and really consider your options. Here are a few of our recent choices. The first is a brownie sundae that I order with peanut butter, the second a butterscotch sundae, and the third is the Milky Way Sundae. I’m also including that shake photo from the other day…yum!

Those sundaes aren’t even close to the limit, though. The infamous Kitchen Sink resides here at Beaches and Cream: 8 scoops of ice cream — including vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, coffee, and mint chocolate chip; Angel Food Cake, Bundt Cake, Brownies, Oreos, Milky Way Candy bar pieces; Peanut Butter, Hot Fudge, Strawberry, Butterscotch, and Caramel sauces; Bananas, Cherries, and Sprinkles; and a whole can of whipped cream. When you order it, they turn on the emergency lights and make a huge announcement to the room Never stops being fun.

Other Fun Information

Another thing that we love — and that my mother, who came of age in the 50’s, never stops talking about — is that you can order flavored Cokes. By that I mean soft drinks with flavors added right there at the counter. Cherry, chocolate, vanilla…all of your old favorites. And, if you ask very nicely, they might give you some maraschino cherries in your cherry Coke… Just sayin’.

Finally, remember that as a Beach and Yacht Clubs guest, you can refill your refillable mug for no charge at Beaches and Cream. (I know…you didn’t think it could get any better, right?)

When Are You Going?

Are you headed to Beaches and Cream soon? Remember to arrive early to get a great seat without waiting. Other good times to go are mid-afternoon, and during Illuminations. (Note: don’t try to hit this great spot after Illuminations — it’s packed!)
